Right outside of Platteville, Wis., resides one of the state's most productive Guernsey herds with a rolling herd average of 19,384M, 823F and 631P on a twice-per-day milking schedule. The Schulers grow 440 acres of diversified crops of alfalfa, oats and corn. The Schulers are Double Gold Star breeders who feed a TMR ration. Donnybrook is home to 10 Excellent cows.

Gurn-Z Meadow Farm, Janesville, WI

One hundred registered Guernseys call Gurn-Z Meadow home. The herd's rolling herd average on twice per day milking is 20,948M, 919F and 692P. This 121-acre farm has diversified crops of alfalfa, soybeans and corn. Cows receive a TMR ration. These Double Gold Star Breeders also have eight Milk Flow Queens, three Component Queens, eight All-American nominees and an All-Time Class Leader, Gurn-Z Meadow Arris Alpine, 3-08 2X 32,220M, 1,278F and 985P.

The Woodmans have one of the state's largest Guernsey operations with 230 animals. They grow 450 acres of crops that is diversified between alfalfa, soybeans and corn. Cows are fed a TMR ration and will soon be housed in a compost bedding barn. They are milked in a new Dairymaster swing parlor.

Recently expanded to 200 cows, the Hoard's Dairyman Farm has new facilities including sand bedded freestalls, a double-10 herringbone, rapid-exit parlor and an electronic ID system. The farm operates 452 acres, diversified between alfalfa, corn, wheat and soybeans. The herd boosts a rolling herd average of 16,706M, 774F and 579P on a twice daily schedule.

The Hellenbrands have a truly unique embryo transfer operation with more than 250 recipients that represent 35 different breeds. Rations are breed specific. Embryos are transferred three times each week. The Guernsey embryos have an average pregnancy rate of 55 percent.
